Description of problem:
Gwibber stops fetching messages from Twitter when it encounters the tweet at "http://twitter.com/mavittest/status/24774597597".  It emits the following log message:

1. Follow "mavittest" on Twitter.

Tweets seen.

Expected results:
No tweets seen.

Additional info:
This bug is not found in the upstream version of Gwibber.  Removing the patch "gwibber-838bzr-twitter-unicode-hack.patch" from the RPM eliminates the bug.  The note in the .spec says to see "https://bugs.launchpad.net/gwibber/+bug/532952", but this page asserts that this bug is fixed.  Is this patch still needed?

So, even when i take out that patch, I can still make it choke on certain non-utf8 characters. I think this fix will do the trick though:
