Description of Problem:
The i1000 Ethernet driver module that is included with the kernel doesn't work 
with the Intel EtherExpress Pro 8490TX+

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel 2.4.18-13

How Reproducible:
Easily. We were working with a Tyan TigerMPX S2466N board.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install the 8490TX
2. boot machine
3. insmod the i1000 module and attempt to use device

Additional Information:
We were able to recompile the module from the Kernel Source and it worked.

Should be fixed in current release.  You mean "e1000" not "i1000".

Yes, indeed.  I have no idea why "e" changed itself to "i". :-) Sorry.

Thanks.  I will recheck when I will have again an access that that
hardware combination but I have a feeling,  based on use of more up-to-date
drivers, that you are correct.
