How reproducible:
hard

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enable the USB 3.0 hub, start the system
2. Check that the xHCI driver module is loaded
3. Inspect the output of /proc/bus/usb/devices

Additional info:
On a system with VMware Workstation or VMware Player installed, this bug causes the VMware USB Arbitrator process to fail to start successfully.

Comment 2 Don Zickus 2010-10-13 15:21:54 UTC
Hopefully, this will automatically get resolved when I backport the latest USB3 fixes from upstream in a couple of months (assuming it is fixed upstream).

Cheers,
Don

Comment 3 Don Zickus 2010-12-10 22:39:22 UTC
Found commit 834e2312e7a384877a876b0d34dffc3046c96bcb upstream that resolves this. Will include this for 6.1.

Cheers,
Don
