Description Christian Rose 2002-04-29 18:01:49 UTC
This is a beta4 system with all updates available via up2date at this point.
Hardware is an Pentium II 233 MHz with 64 MB memory. Graphics hardware is a
Diamond Speedstar 8MB AGP, using the XFree86 4.2.0 "savage" driver.

I downloaded and installed the "xine" package via up2date (xine-0.9.8-4). I then
tried to start it via the Gnome menu entry. This resulted in xine appearing on
the screen but also in the system immediately becoming completely unresponsive
-- no mouse movements worked, no keyboard input, no pings from the outside world.

I can reproduce this system crash every time I repeat this process.

xine isn't part of our distribution anymore
