Could this be related? > > Seems like the install of plymouth failed. No dracut is installed yet, and > plymouth tries to do in %post: > /usr/libexec/plymouth/plymouth-generate-initrd > > which then fails. maybe plymouth should do plymouth-generate-initrd in %posttrans, but then we would do it twice... first for the kernel and a second time for plymouth. Not really sure why this bug was cloned off, the problem clearly is how the transactions work with split media, which is a pungi bug to make sure lvm gets on the first media along with kernel/dracut/etc.. James, can you explain why this was cloned? (In reply to comment #2) > James, can you explain why this was cloned? I'll certainly try, however Harald may have more specifics to help clarify. My understanding is that this issue was cloned and intended to track the plymouth %script originally identified in bug#642557. At the time this bug was cloned, the %script failures were thought to be independent of the root cause of split-media package order issue. However, given we now know that bug#642557 can be resolved with a pungi change to ensure that lvm2 (along with several other packages) is included on disc1 of split-media, I'm not sure if the plymouth %script problem will remain. Harald, did I miss anything here? plymouth problem will stay... Can you clarify what the "plymouth problem" is? I'm confused and I want to either reproduce or verify fixed this issue with the new isos I spun up. (In reply to comment #5) > Can you clarify what the "plymouth problem" is? This "problem" should largely go away with the pungi change I made, so this is certainly not something that has to be worried about for F14. This message is a notice that Fedora 14 is now at end of life. Fedora has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version' of '14' have been closed as WONTFIX. (Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.) Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were unable to fix it before Fedora 14 reached end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on "Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that version of Fedora. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping |
