Description of problem:
Could no longer progress and produced an error log which i shall append to this 
bug report.

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Upgrade from 6.2 to 7.2
2. Followed setup procedure by booting from CD-ROM
3. Found filesystems OK	
4. Choose GRUB then LILO to boot but this made no difference
5. When searching for packages to update the error occurs

Actual Results:  The error prompt screen appears I saved the error to disk 
clicked on OK and the system was rebooted to the 6.2 installation

Expected Results:  Redhat 7.2 should have installed as an upgrade.

What is /bin/sh on your system?

From the running system, what is the output of
python -c 'import os; print os.access("/bin/sh", os.X_OK)'
