Description of problem:

When trying to change the brightness of the display, the OSD dialog pops up and changes accordingly, but the actual brightness of the display doesn't change.

Additional info:

Setting the contents of /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness doesn't change the actual brightness either.

If I reload the thinkpad_acpi module with brightness_enable=1, then /sys/class/backlight/thinkpad_screen appears and writing to /sys/class/backlight/thinkpad_screen does change the brightness. Also, the brightness keys work.

This message is a notice that Fedora 14 is now at end of life. Fedora 
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. It is 
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
