Description Need Real Name 2002-05-14 11:18:18 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020408

Description of problem:
Evo crashes when printing. I have tested it with both it@euro and american
english localizations. Only in it@euro crashes.
For printing I mean clicking on the printer icon after an e-mail is read. I
think the problem is specific to the mail conponent, though even when I try to
print the summary report I cannot get the page (no crash dialog in this case is
popped up). Contact, instead, are printed fine.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
evolution-1.0.3-6

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Read an e-mail
2. Click on the printer icon
3. Crash

Actual Results: The mail component crashes, evolution continues to run, but I'm
not able to get mails.

Expected Results: a nice printed e-mail!

Additional info:

the version number tested is: evolution-1.0.3-6
red hat linux: 7.3 with all updates via up2date

This is an issue in limbo beta 2. Whenever I try to print a mail message from
Evolution in either KDE or Gnome, I get a crash (Application "evolution-mail"
(process xxx) has crashed due to a fatal error (SEgmentation fault)). Printing
from other apps works fine.

Comment 2 Need Real Name 2002-10-02 19:52:18 UTC
I only get this problem with e-mail I receive from one of my co-workers 2
e-mails from him both crash evolotion, but many other e-mail's I've tried work fine.

He uses outlook 2000 or 2002 if it turns out to be important I can check. Below
is the e-mail source from evolution that crashes evolution:

Also, I'm using Red Hat 8.0 not 7.3 like the bug was opened for.

Comment 4 Gerry Tool 2002-10-09 19:37:37 UTC
In RH8.0 if I print a plain text message, all is well. If I print a message
containing HTML, sometimes it prints fine, other times it crashes. I've looked
at the source in a number of successful/unsuccessful cases and have not been
able to correlate anything with the crash.

If it is helpful, I can attach a pair of successful/unsuccessful messages to
this item.

This makes use of evolution cumbersome.

Comment 5 Jeremy Katz 2003-02-10 02:39:24 UTC
Should be fixed with newer gnome-print in rawhide.
