What file type? Is it always crashing on this particular file?

I believe it was .mpeg.  It could have also been .avi or .mp4.  I can't quite remember.

I suspect it's not so much the file as it is the codec.  My guess is that it isn't gracefully handling the situation where it doesn't have the codec.

Indeed, good point.

I have forwarded your information to the developer at http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6775

From now on all further investigation should take place upstream, therefor I'm now closing this bug. I will get back to you if I need more info and inform you once the issue is resolved in Fedora.
