Description of problem:
 In Dell4300,the broadcom finger reader is not working in F12,F14.

when run fingerprint-gui its says not device found.

I have even raised bug last year for fedora 12, but did not got any response.

How reproducible:

Fingerprint-Gui not detecting broadcom  fingerprint device.
The same  device works fine in windows.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. F12-f14 device  not detected

Actual results:
EVen upgrade with f15 repo for  fprint but no result.

It's not supported, because Broadcom won't give us specs for it. If you want it supported, you'll have to work upstream to get a driver written.

Maybe now that Broadcom have joined the Linux Foundation pressure could be brought to bear to release the specs for this device as it would presumably bring added security functionality to a whole host of business laptops.
