This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in a Red
Hat Enterprise Linux maintenance release.  Product Management has requested
further review of this request by Red Hat Engineering, for potential
inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update release for currently deployed
products.  This request is not yet committed for inclusion in an Update
release.

Unfortunately, this is a blocker for the slow AMD guest boot issue.

Please ignore the earlier parts of this bug, which are not related to TSC.  The SMP consistency issues with TSC on unstable hosts can not be resolved adequately without TSC trapping.

The TSC trapping code cannot be backported to 5.X kernels as it requires update clocksource code, so this issue can not be resolved in the 5.x series.
