I'm on rawhide and recently have had to $ sudo mkdir /var/run/couchdb $ sudo chown couchdb:couchdb /var/run/couchdb in order to get couch to start. I'm running couchdb-1.0.2-2.fc16.x86_64, so this still appears to be an open issue. Created attachment 491048 [details]
/etc/tmpfiles.d/couchdb.conf
the couchdb init script in fedora does not need a special /var/lock file (uses file /var/lock/subsys/couchdb, which works fine as is), but a /var/run/couchdb is necessary. i have attached a working file (btw: test systemd-tmpfiles --create) /etc/tmpfiles.d/couchdb with following content. d /var/run/couchdb 710 couchdb couchdb erlang-ibrowse-2.2.0-2.fc14,couchdb-1.0.2-7.fc14 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 14. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/erlang-ibrowse-2.2.0-2.fc14,couchdb-1.0.2-7.fc14 erlang-ibrowse-2.2.0-2.el6,couchdb-1.0.2-7.el6 has been submitted as an update for Fedora EPEL 6. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/erlang-ibrowse-2.2.0-2.el6,couchdb-1.0.2-7.el6 couchdb-1.0.2-7.fc15 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 15. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/couchdb-1.0.2-7.fc15 Package couchdb-1.0.2-7.fc15: * should fix your issue, * was pushed to the Fedora 15 testing repository, * should be available at your local mirror within two days. Update it with: # su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing couchdb-1.0.2-7.fc15' as soon as you are able to. Please go to the following url: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/couchdb-1.0.2-7.fc15 then log in and leave karma (feedback). erlang-ibrowse-2.2.0-2.fc14, couchdb-1.0.2-7.fc14 has been pushed to the Fedora 14 stable repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report. couchdb-1.0.2-7.fc15 has been pushed to the Fedora 15 stable repository.
