Comment 2 Steven Haigh 2010-11-26 04:49:07 UTC
Package: rdesktop-1.6.0-9.fc14
Architecture: i686
OS Release: Fedora release 14 (Laughlin)

How to reproduce
-----
Try to connect to a Windows XP RDP system.

Comment 3 Steven Haigh 2010-11-26 04:51:24 UTC
This seems to happen when Sound is set to Local. When turning the sound to Off, the connection works fine.

Comment 4 info@kobaltwit.be 2010-11-29 16:32:23 UTC
Package: rdesktop-1.6.0-9.fc14
Architecture: i686
OS Release: Fedora release 14 (Laughlin)

How to reproduce
-----
1. I have a Windows XP setup running as a xen domU
2. I attempt to connect to over rdp from within krdc
3. The connection is stored as a bookmark in krdc
4. Since the update, when I launch the bookmark, I briefly see the WinXP screen and then it closes again, with the message that rdesktop has crashed.
5. There is not enough time to click or do anything else in the Windows XP screen.

Comment 5 info@kobaltwit.be 2010-11-29 16:35:17 UTC
I can confirm that turning the sound off avoids the crash.

Comment 6 Ed Marshall 2010-11-30 14:57:23 UTC
Package: rdesktop-1.6.0-9.fc14
Architecture: i686
OS Release: Fedora release 14 (Laughlin)

How to reproduce
-----
This just started occurring with the most recent update to rdesktop (1.6.0-9.fc14); I'll connect to a remote windows 7 machine, and typically when a new window is opened on the remote desktop, rdesktop will crash, leaving behind a warning window stating "Autoselected keybaord map en-us".

Comment 7 Ed Marshall 2010-11-30 14:59:50 UTC
Agreed, disabling sound seems to have stopped the crashing.

Thanks for the reports, folks. I should have an updated package with a fix in a couple of days. Just one comment:

padsp should not be necessary anymore, as rdesktop supports ALSA and PulseAudio directly thanks to libao (which was enabled in the last update).

Package: rdesktop-1.6.0-9.fc14

How to reproduce
-----
1. start den VMware View Open Client
2. (crash)
3.

Comment
-----
I am using the most recent version of "VMware View Open Client".
Last tuesday it did work without any problems. Today it crashed
after successful login on my customers VMware infrakstrukture.

I guess that a code-update on the last two days caused the crash.

When i successfully log in, i see my remote desktop for 1 secound.
Then, the rdesktop application does crash.

I have connected to 3 different XP (SP3) systems with the same result. But, when I connect to a Windows 2003 Server, KRDC/rdesktop works correctly.
