Description of problem:

This is a bump of bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=562421 for Fedora 14, as F12 has reached EOL and this is still an issue.

Release     : 2.fc14

How reproducible: Always


Steps to Reproduce:
1. run ipython -pylab
2. execute plot()
3. execute xlabel("$x_1$")
  
Actual results: fonts are not displayed correctly.


Expected results: latex fonts should be displayed correctly.
