Description of problem: /usr/bin/memusage doesn't have a manpage. "--help" gives some information, but some aspects remain ambiguous to me. In particular: * am I right in thinking it runs things in a special LD_PRELOAD environment which uses instrumented malloc/realloc/free? * what exactly do the fields in the summary mean, e.g. in the following: # memusage ./dmalcolm-test.py RSS after cleanup: 6 MB (6800) Memory usage summary: heap total: 90046314, heap peak: 85537396, stack peak: 39536 total calls total memory failed calls malloc| 2787 81142950 0 realloc| 1073 8895452 0 (nomove:454, dec:278, free:0) calloc| 13 7912 0 free| 2885 84730230 Presumably all memory units are in bytes; what is the "heap total", and the "heap peak".
