I guess I'd lean towards blaming 06f31e276650ba22ea5d446d2b9a125a660ee0ca
but we can test that theory tomorrow...

I've confirmed that it's the change for bug #189918 which broke this; new inodes don't seem to be getting written to disk.

This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in a Red
Hat Enterprise Linux maintenance release.  Product Management has requested
further review of this request by Red Hat Engineering, for potential
inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update release for currently deployed
products.  This request is not yet committed for inclusion in an Update
release.
