While trying to rebuild GConf2 2.32.1, we hit the error reported over at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=634512 :

Additional info:

Looking at both http://git.gnome.org/browse/gconf/commit/?id=6d6704ea4143a335808b08e921a419bd4125d296 and http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=1043 it would appear that mclasen would perhaps be the proper person to assign this to, as I suspect it will become an issue if/when fc14 bumps to gnome 2.32.1 as well?

Bug opened here too as per nirik's suggestion in #fedora.

Just to be clear:

The issue is that a single line of code breaks the assumption that GConf2 2.32.1 can be rebuilt safely against glib 2.26.0, namely:

range = g_settings_get_range (settings, keys[j]);

(As mentioned in the b.g.o report, g_settings_get_range was introduced in glib-2.27.1).

Here's hoping that someone can figure out a nice fix and take it upstream so that others may benefit as well.
