Description Mathieu Bridon 2011-01-10 16:40:53 UTC
abrt version: 1.1.14
architecture: x86_64
Attached file: backtrace
cmdline: simple-scan
component: simple-scan
crash_function: book_save_pdf
executable: /usr/bin/simple-scan
kernel: 2.6.35.10-74.fc14.x86_64
package: simple-scan-2.32.0-1.fc14
rating: 4
reason: Process /usr/bin/simple-scan was killed by signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
release: Fedora release 14 (Laughlin)
time: 1294677328
uid: 500

How to reproduce
-----
1. Scanned a document with the « Text » quality
2. Rotate and crop it
3. Save the document as PDF
=> Simple-Scan crashes while writing the file, leaving a corrupt PDF

For what is worth, my scanner is a HP PSC 1410 (all in one printer, scanner, copier).

Comment 2 Mathieu Bridon 2011-01-10 16:43:38 UTC
Note that Simple-Scan is able to properly save the PDF file if I do the following:
1. Scan the same document with the same (« Text ») quality
2. Rotate it
3. Save the document as PDF

It seems like the problem comes from cropping the document, since I can reproduce the crash 100% when I crop it, but never when I don't.
