Well, "Editing document to update items" is a bit vague... Which kind of document: text, spreadsheet, something else? What "items"? What were you doing just before the crash? Can you reproduce the crash with the same document? Or with a new one? If yes, could you attach an example here together with steps how to get the crash?

Sorry, thought the backtrace would give you the basic info you needed.  Had two Write documents and one Calc document open.  Was editing one of the Write documents.  The crash of Calc, which was just open and wasn't being edited at the time, took down all three documents, one of which was not recovered and had to be started from scratch again.  When I finished with sending the bug report I reopen the two and restarted the third without problem.
