I am pretty sure the space left two the plugin does not belong to the plugin but to the panel. For each panel you need to have *one* separator that is set to "expand free space" (not sure if the translation is correct) but only one for must be set to expand. To me your screenshot looks as if you have ether separators on both sides. Am I correct? Sorry, my problem with mistranslation. No, on the panel, there is only one "extend free space" separator. If i click on that free space left to plugin, it shows me the same name as if i click on icon. Also, i tried moving the plugin between 2 other plugins, no free space, and the hole moved with it. Does the location of the plugin change when you change the separator to not expand? I think what we see here is - The plugin was added where you clicked - it is impossible to move the plugin due to a problem of the panel that was introduced through GTK, see bug 668594. If I change separator just to free space, not expand, plugin moves straignt to the applet right from it. Free space fills whatever it can on the panel, so it looks like there was "expand free space" separator left to it (I can provide screenshot if there are some mistranslations again). Bug 668594 doesn't describe this too well, because i can move it freely around, until plugins next to it are locked at their place. Also, if I try to move it around, it gives me some non-existing edge where it could be dropped in about 1/3 from left edge of expanding free space. This message is a notice that Fedora 14 is now at end of life. Fedora has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. Created attachment 473718 [details] Quick view at the problem Description of problem: After installing xfce4-cddrive-plugin standart way via yum, and adding it to xfce4-panel, it wastes free space to the left of the plugin. It is not left-clickable (no action happens with CD drive), but belongs to this plugin (right-click shows it). Rest of the plugin works normally. 100% reproducible on my 3 computers. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install xfce4-panel and xfce4-cddrive-plugin 2. Add this plugin to panel Actual results: Vaste of space, aesthetical tragedy Expected results: Plugin using space as any other Additional information: Screenshot with actual situation attached. Right from the plugin, there is free space i added on my own, so it has nothing to do with this bug. So do another applets showed on screenshot.
