Description Lukas Bezdicka 2011-01-17 10:49:06 UTC
Description of problem:
I don't want to use gnome-shell and I'm unable to fallback.

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. set up fallback in desktop effects and relogin
2. remove gnome-shell install metacity and relogin, metacity won't start

Additional info:
I was quite happy with compiz I have nothing against gnome-shell but it would be nice if the fallbacks were in place.

Desktop Effects has been removed from Fedora 15 now since it didn't work (as you describe), you can force fallback mode from System Information/Graphics in System Settings.
