Description Horst H. von Brand 2011-01-18 12:47:32 UTC
Description of problem:
Clicking on the default web browser icon has no efect. Checking its properties says it runs "exo-open --launch WebBrowser", running that in a Terminal gives:

  $ exo-open --launch WebBrowser
  Error: No running window found

and Firefox (my default browser) does start.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
exo-0.6.0-1.fc15.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on Web Browser icon
2.
3.

Actual results:
Nothing

Expected results:
Open firefox

1. What does 'exo-preferred-applications' show as your web browser?
2. do you have a 'gnome-settings-daemon' running? If you kill that does it start behaving correctly?

Comment 2 Horst H. von Brand 2011-01-20 13:01:37 UTC
1. Mozilla Firefox.
If I run "exo-open --launch WebBrowser" in a Terminal it complains "Error: No running window found" and launches Firefox (the complaint also shows up in ~/.xsession-errors)

2. "pgrep gnome-settings" returns nothing

Does this persist with xfdesktop-4.8.1?

I do see the "Error: No running window found" here, but then the icon in the panel works fine...

Comment 4 Horst H. von Brand 2011-02-11 23:26:06 UTC
xfdesktop-4.8.0-1.fc15.x86_64, exo-0.6.0-1.fc15.x86_64 now.
The icon works.
"exo-open --launch WebBrowser" in a Terminal also works, no error messages/warnings.

[Was out for vacation, and also used Gnome in the meantime.]

Cool. So shall we close this now?
