Comment 2 Kevin Fenzi 2011-01-18 17:11:09 UTC
It comes up fine here... does this happen always? Or only right after start?

The backtrace isn't too informative, but will try and see where it's at.

Thanks for your fast response.
Currently, I can't tell you any more details, the automatic login of the live iso fails and returns again and again. So I am not able to try to reproduce it ...
Have you noticed that it is an issue of the live cd as a guest with VirtualBox, maybe only version 4.0?

Probably I will try a new nightly in the next days and see how to reproduce.

Comment 4 Kevin Fenzi 2011-01-18 20:58:47 UTC
Yeah, there's a gdm bug going on there. ;(

I have a real physical install here. Not virt, not live.

So, it could be something related to those, yes.

Comment 6 Christoph Wickert 2011-01-23 09:59:46 UTC
I am going to submit a proper backtrace in a new bug and then close this one as a duplicate. God knows how I have ABRT. :(

better backtrace

Dammit, why can ABRT not attach a new backtrace if the previous one was useless?

Comment 9 Kevin Fenzi 2011-01-24 05:34:51 UTC
Upstream bug:
http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7174

Comment 10 Kevin Fenzi 2011-01-27 22:41:50 UTC
ok, upstream has commited a patch for this, which I have just added to our xfce4-settings package. ;)

Hopefully this fixes it. Should be in tomorrow's rawhide/nightly composes.
Please let me know if it's still not fixed.

Comment 11 Raphael Groner 2011-01-28 15:30:42 UTC
There is also a crash of xfce4-settings-helper with the nightly xfce-i386-20110126.16.iso.

Comment 12 Kevin Fenzi 2011-01-28 15:57:51 UTC
That was the previous version before the crash? ;) Composes take like 12 hours or so and start after rawhide lands. There was none yesterday as rawhide was broken. ;)

So, try with the 20110128 ones once they appear?

Have you tried the latest nightly? Which one?

Comment 15 Kevin Fenzi 2011-02-01 16:21:25 UTC
This should be fixed in 4.8.0-2.fc15.

(But obviously, I would like to get more confirmation on that).

Comment 16 Raphael Groner 2011-02-01 19:24:49 UTC
It looks better now with xfce-i386-20110130.16.iso
