Description Marco Welter 2011-01-20 06:32:35 UTC
Description of problem:

I installed F14 and upgrade to rawhide. After installing mysql-server I want to start the mysqld. There are a error message in the log file:
"can´t reate PID file: No such file or directory".
After I create the directory /var/run/mysqld/ and setting some write rights, I could start the mysqld.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
mysql-server-5.5.8-5.fc15.x86_64

The RPM must create the direcotry /var/run/mysqld
