Unresizable GUI

Description of problem:

Configuration of keyboard shortcuts is hardly usable.
GUI windows is not resizable (at least not in current
metacity/gnome-shell) - in fact many windows seems to prohibit
its resize - wondering why ??

Even design of this config windows is quite unusable as well.

See attached picture - when lots of text needs to be scrolled
to be even able to read a simple text line - why do we have displays
like 1600x1050 when we need to use fixed size GUI 700x300.

Try 2.91.6, the window is now much bigger.

Comment 2 Zdenek Kabelac 2011-02-08 10:01:03 UTC
Well - I can confirm that window is bigger - and now at least partially usable - but it's IMHO still done in bad way.

I don't understand why the window is NOT resizeable - Is this some 'new way of gnome-life' ?

And what for are 'Add-toolbutton/remove-toolbutton' elements greyed on the bottom of 'Shortcuts' tab ?

I think this gnome-gui really needs some more professional look - as not resizeable config windows were already discovered in W95 era I guess and it's was not seen as success - it's upto user to decide how big the window should be.
(see attached windows - where I still need to use scroll bar - even though I've 3 times bigger workspace to show the whole list at once).

So I would prefer probably to keep this bug still opened - until good solution is found.

The control-center panels aren't resizable.

Because that particular panel is not finished implementing.
