Andrew, could you post the contents of you eclipse.ini? I have a max heap size of 384MB. Is your suggestion to set hight/low water-marks for the IOConsole? Do you have something else in mind? Thanks! My heap size was perhaps the same but I've now set it to 512 MB. My thought was that we can determine the heap size before running the build and set the IOConsole to not spill over, say, 3/4 of it. Does that make sense? I guess this type of enhancement should be moved to trac ... Makes sense. Thanks for clarifying. I have opened this upstream bug for this: https://fedorahosted.org/eclipse-fedorapackager/ticket/55 This should be fixed in the latest rawhide build here: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=215717 Let me know if it works. That fixes it, thanks! Ok, thanks. Closing. |
Created attachment 475023 [details] screenshot showing the error When running a local build of 'eclipse', I ran into a heap space issue with the console. While I realize we can't change the design of OpenJDK and must allocate "enough" heap space in advance, it would be nice if we could try to work around this issue in advance in the Fedora Packager plugins. I will believe that this is not possible if that's true :)
