strace of anaconda
The machine runs other instances of Fedora 6 through 15 (rawhide) just fine, but is old enough [6 years] that its BIOS cannot boot from USB. So I copied vmlinuz and initrd0.img from syslinux to a partition on a harddrive, and specified those in a special GRUB stanza with kernel command line: root=live:CDLABEL=<the_label_of_the_USB_device> rootfstype=auto liveimg rd_NO_LUKS rd_NO_MD rd_NO_DM askmethod which I adapted from the boot lines that appear on nightly liveCDs at http://alt.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/nightly-composes/desktop/ Is this still an issue with anaconda-15-30 ? It works correctly with anaconda-15.31, which was the version in the final release of Fedora 15. I consider this bug closed then |
