Description Enrico Scholz 2011-02-07 11:53:50 UTC
Description of problem:

It would be nice when the 'ifAlias' attribute (--> 'ip link set ... alias ...' or directly in '/sys/class/net/*/ifalias') of the created interface can be configured from with the virtual machine description.

This attribute is usually a descriptive name of the interface and e.g. visible by SNMP queries.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

libvirt-0.8.1-27.el6

Since RHEL 6.1 External Beta has begun, and this bug remains
unresolved, it has been rejected as it is not proposed as an
exception or blocker. It has been moved to RHEL 6.2 since
it is a FutureFeature request.

This is probably a netcf RFE? Can't tell if this is in reference to interface objects, or VM tap devices. Either way, bug filer is inactive and no one else is clamoring for this AFAICT, so closing
