- RFE: use virt-what to determine if the node is running inside of a VM so that we can differntiate between virt disabled on bare metal vs. virt disabled due to running inside of a VM

systemd has a tool that can do this as well.  systemd-detect-virt will detect if we're running in a virt environment.

there are other tools available, that are already in use
