Description of problem:

qpidc.conf is in /etc/qpid
qpidd.conf is in /etc

This should be cleaned up.  I assume both should be in /etc/qpid

I agree this should be changed.  It will be easier to transition if there is a code change to check for qpidd.conf at both locations.

Indeed, if we're going to make a change here, I'd like to us to consider using more straightforward names.  Many folks will look at "qpidc.conf" and have little idea what it is.

Say:

/etc/qpid/client.conf
/etc/qpid/(broker|server|daemon).conf

We're a little scatterbrained about whether we use broker, server, or daemon.  I'd prefer we settled on one and stuck to it, in the name of fewer mapping table entries in users' minds.
