Description Kris Knigga 2011-02-17 04:20:25 UTC
Description of problem:
Upgrade from alsa-firmware-1.0.23-1.fc14.noarch and alsa-tools-firmware-1.0.23-1.fc14.x86_64 to alsa-firmware-1.0.24.1-1.fc14.noarch and alsa-tools-firmware-1.0.24.1-1.fc14.x86_64 disables sound output through the speakers on my Asus EeePC 1215t using Realtek ALC259. Sound only plays through headphone jack after upgrade. Downgrade back to 1.0.23-1 fixes issue.

How reproducible:
Very.

Steps to Reproduce:
yum -y update alsa-firmware alsa-tools-firmware
<play sound>
<sound only plays through headphone jack whether or not anything is plugged into said jack>

Actual results:
sound only plays through headphone jack whether or not anything is plugged into said jack

Expected results:
Sound should play through speakers if nothing is plugged into the headphone jack.

Eh, I reupgraded and it works now. I'm not sure what changed. *shrug*
