Description Klaus Lichtenwalder 2011-02-20 11:21:08 UTC
Description of problem:
f-spot does not longer display thumbnails or larger images of imported raw images and does not import them any longer, either. It does call dcraw, though. Calling ufraw from f-spot with one of those images does it correctly. Interestingly, f-spot also does not read the exif data of the image (creation date), but seems to use the modification date of the directory the images are located.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
f-spot-0.8.2-1.fc14.x86_64
(also tried f-spot-0.8.2-2.fc15.x86_64)

How reproducible:
remove fspot photo database and try to import an .orf

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open f-spot
2.chose directory with orf
3.import

Actual results:
Does show icons of pictures, no dia show

Expected results:
should display thumbnail, dia show

Additional info:
I tried it also on a 32bit virtual machine, same behavior. It did work on F12, don't know when this started to happen (probably with upgrade to f14)
Ubuntus 0.6. Version of f-spot still displays thumbnails

Comment 1 Christian Krause 2011-03-06 12:55:02 UTC
I can confirm this problem: orf files were supported in f-spot 0.6.x but they aren't anymore in 0.8.x.

An upstream developer confirmed via IRC that the support for these files is currently missing.

So unfortunately there isn't much what I can do from a packaging point of view.

Please file a bug report / feature request in the f-spot bug tracker:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=f-spot

Please add the link to the upstream bug report here.

For now I'll close this bug report. Once upstream has a patch ready, I will be happy to create a new Fedora package.

Chritian,

did as you said, here's the link: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=644029

Ok, thanks! I'll monitor the upstream bug report.
