Please see attached spec file -- I think it's based on the php 5.1.x spec, thought it might be from fedora

I am unsure if php53 requires libevent for php-fpm -- it did in 5.2 but it would appear it does not in 5.3.x

in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux release.  Product Management has
requested further review of this request by Red Hat Engineering, for
potential inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux release for currently
deployed products.  This request is not yet committed for inclusion in
a release.

FPM support has been added to Red Hat Enterprise 6, see the following errata:
http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2013-0514.html

We are not planning to add this feature to Red Hat Enterprise 5 at this stage in the product life cycle.
