Description Raul Mahiques 2011-02-25 10:49:30 UTC
Description of problem:
Anaconda remove partitons and LVs one by one when you specify the option:
clearpart --all ...
this is inieficient and sometimes slows the kickstart process

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Noticed in RHEL5.3, probably others.

How reproducible:
Create some LVs in a disk.
kickstart the machine including 'clearpart --all ...'
Observe tty3 output

Actual results:
Anaconda deletes partitons and LVs one by one

Expected results:
Anaconda cleans the disk quickly (ie. using dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/diskdevice bs=1M count=1 )

While it'd be nice to make this faster, RHEL5 is at a point where we're really only making changes that fix bugs affecting installability and hardware support.
