Started rhythmbox (or banshee) and play music 3. gnome-panel restarts all the time Comment ----- If i've added the gnome-applet-music, gnome-panel restarts every time i play music in rhythmbox or banshee. This happened as soon I logged into the machine. Have seen this kind of behaviour, not only with Gnome-Global-Menu, but with other applications as well. This time it happened when few windows where opening up as soon as I logged in. It looks like while loading the windows, one or the other applet crashes. This time it is Gnome-Global-Menu. Comment ----- when the system is powered off with say few application windows kept open, for example... 1> Terminal 2> Open-office 3> firefox browser 4> pdf reader .... etc .... These windows get restored back once logged. In the process of restoring these windows, the resource (especially cpu) is quite high, and during this time, lesser applications like applets, gets crashed. Added on to this, that applet which is buggy, crashes even more frequently, when this kind of condition arises. Suppose, on the other hand, before shutting down the system, if all the application windows are closed, then when the system comes back, and once logged in, all the applets gets loaded properly, without crashing. Hope this information, helps you in seeing to that, the Gnome-Global-Menu applet gets loaded properly, even when faced with crunch situations, like many windows opening up at the same time, and more resource is being utilized. This Gnome-global-menu applet is crashing whenever I logout and login back.
This am experiencing with the new kernel which was upgraded 2 days back, using SOFTWARE UPDATE application.
