Description Arne Woerner 2011-02-27 11:44:07 UTC
Description of problem:
i cant use the analog receiver of my "Hauppauge model 65008, rev A1C0",
because: the audio is bad...
It has a "Sigmatel audio processor (stac 9752)" according to the driver log message...
I tried to activate the em28xx_alsa module by telling the em28xx module that the stick "has_alsa_audio",
but: it did only produce an alsa card with 0 (zero) capture devices...

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.6.35.11-83.fc14.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. plug in the stick
2. mplayer -tv driver=v4l2:input=0:width=768:height=576:device=/dev/video0:audate=48000:amode=1:forceaudio:alsa:immediatemode=0:adevice=hw.2:norm=pal:freq=280.25 tv://

Actual results:
I can hear the sound but there r long (several seconds) periods (50% of the time) with a loud clicking noise...
Obviously it is no std usb audio device...

Expected results:
It should sound like normal TV sound
(either via a USB sound or via a proprietary sound device driver)...

Additional info:
Could it be related to amd64 issues?

Comment 2 Arne Woerner 2011-03-10 13:52:31 UTC
i found that my DVB-T connection is good enough...
so this bug is not so important for me anymore...
but it still persists and analog TV is not completely obsoleted...
