Description Robin Green 2011-02-27 21:40:54 UTC
The "remember this authorization" checkboxes in the authorization dialog appear to have no effect - if they don't do anything, they shouldn't be there.

Comment 1 Rex Dieter 2011-02-27 21:58:58 UTC
That's likely the fault of the authentication agent used, assuming polkit-kde here.

Comment 2 Kevin Kofler 2011-02-28 00:01:08 UTC
"Remember this authorization" is present in the polkit-kde UI, but not actually implemented. (I remember checking the code a while ago, the checkbox isn't hooked to anything.) PolicyKit upstream removed that feature with the move to PolicyKit 1. It could probably be implemented in the authorization agent, but currently it isn't. The fact that this is not implemented, but the UI checkbox was not removed / hidden / commented out is probably an oversight.

Comment 3 Jaroslav Reznik 2011-02-28 08:36:22 UTC
Oversight, I'm doing polkit-kde cleanup, I'll fix it.

Comment 4 Tore Anderson 2011-08-28 08:48:13 UTC
Same issue here. I get it when installing packages or starting virt-manager, for example. Quite annoying.
