i don't see the reason for this bug to be "Future Feature" why have you changed the version to "rawhide" ? it is definitely a bug, and this bug exists in F14 which is the supported release (In reply to comment #1) > i don't see the reason for this bug to be "Future Feature" > why have you changed the version to "rawhide" ? > > it is definitely a bug, and this bug exists in F14 which is the supported > release Yes, please see comment 6 in bug 600153. Libarchive implementation is correct, it's gvfsd-archive which lacks support for hardlinks. Marked as FutureFeature since this is a new functionality that needs to be written. It's a pretty low priority feature at the moment, but feel free to send a patch. (In reply to comment #1) > it is definitely a bug, and this bug exists in F14 which is the supported > release It is but as long as I'm not aware of anybody who is going to make this fixed in F14, moving this to rawhide where new features belong. Can we switch off iso-support in gvfs till this bug is fixed? It's better to have no possibility to mount iso-files through nautilus then to mount them with 50% chance. I prefer to use "mount -o loop" command then to discover that i have copied file without data (In reply to comment #3) > Can we switch off iso-support in gvfs till this bug is fixed? You can do that by removing the gvfs-archive package. I can do this, but what about other users? If package is broken and no one supposed to fix it until f16 release, why it is in the repos? This is not just a small bug with some workaround, it affects ordinary nonexperienced users, it is hard to notice, and consequences are bad enough. If the package does not provide any other features except the broken one, it should be removed. If there are other useful features, then it is better to disable the broken feature. This package has changed ownership in the Fedora Package Database. Reassigning to the new owner of this component. This is no more issue these days. Iso files are mounted by Disk Image Mounter for some time already and Archive Mounter is not part of the recent Fedora release anymore. |
