Description of problem:
my graphics card is a ASUS ATI RADEON HD 6950 card (upgraded via a reflash of the bios to a RADEON 6970) 

I don't get any 3D acceleration. 
but what is even worse, I can't configure the right resolution for my screen. 
Also, my screen doesn't get recognised.

HD69XX are not supported yet
