Description Eric Sandeen 2011-03-02 22:57:31 UTC
Description of problem:

# seekwatcher
/usr/lib64/python2.6/site-packages/matplotlib/rcsetup.py:117: UserWarning: rcParams key "numerix" is obsolete and has no effect;
 please delete it from your matplotlibrc file
  warnings.warn('rcParams key "numerix" is obsolete and has no effect;\n'
...

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

seekwatcher-0.12-4.1.el6.noarch

How reproducible:

every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. run seekwatcher

Additional info:

There is no functional problem, but it looks sloppy.

I think we can just drop the offending line from seekwatcher.

built & tagged in seekwatcher-0.12-5.el6

Comment 4 Matthew Boyle 2011-07-04 13:27:59 UTC
this is now appearing as a fatal error in Fedora 14 (though the offending line still seems to be in the Rawhide package).

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/seekwatcher", line 755, in <module>
    rcParams['numerix'] = 'numpy'
  File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/matplotlib/__init__.py", line 652, in __setitem__
    See rcParams.keys() for a list of valid parameters.' % (key,))
KeyError: 'numerix is not a valid rc parameter.See rcParams.keys() for a list of valid parameters.'

removing the line fixes the problem.

Matthew, thanks - I've cloned this to bug #719062 for Fedora and built the packages; they should work their way through soon.
