If you run gs from the command line, does that take a long time? Or is it just when using evince? Also please provide the output of 'rpm -q ghostscript'. (In reply to comment #1) > If you run gs from the command line, does that take a long time? Or is it just > when using evince? Hi Tim, I have since updated to the latest CentOS 5.6 version. The problem seems to have disappeared and i can open these long filenames from the commandline using gs and evince. But at times evince does not open ps files (but can open pdf files) when some other pdf/ps files are open. I have to close all open files and then evince manages to open the file. kpdf has no such problem. This problem was there before as well and is quite random. (In reply to comment #2) > Also please provide the output of 'rpm -q ghostscript'. ]$ rpm -qa ghostscript* ghostscript-fonts-5.50-13.1.1 ghostscript-8.70-6.el5 OK, closing then if it works now. |
