Description Tommy He 2011-03-05 15:30:26 UTC
Description of problem:

webkitgtk-devel doesn't contain the GIRs/typelibs so that WebKit is unable to import in Seed app.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
webkitgtk-devel-1.3.10-1.fc14.i686

How reproducible:
Every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install seed-devel and webkitgtk-devel
2. Walk through Seed Tutorial on http://people.gnome.org/~racarr/seed/tutorial-standalone/tutorial.html or file:///usr/share/doc/seed-doc-2.31.91/tutorial/tutorial.html in seed-doc-2.31.91-2.fc14.noarch.
3. Run the final version of the tutorial code on http://people.gnome.org/~racarr/seed/tutorial-standalone/2.js or file:///usr/share/doc/seed-doc-2.31.91/tutorial/2.js

Actual results:
** (seed:25439): CRITICAL **: Line 3 in ./hellogtk.js: GIrepositoryError Typelib file for namespace 'WebKit' (any version) not found

Expected results:
WebKit is imported successfully and the demo could run.

Additional info:
The searching in upstream mailing list suggests it might due to the packaging.

Comment 1 Mamoru TASAKA 2011-03-05 16:01:40 UTC
According to the spec file, enabling GIRs/typelibs needs
gobject-introspection >= 0.9.5, while F-14 gobject-introspection is still
0.9.3 and I don't expect that gobject-introspection will be upgraded
on F-14 (Kevin?)

Comment 2 Kevin Fenzi 2011-03-05 18:01:17 UTC
Correct. We need newer gobject-introspection. ;(

If you can get that upgraded I can build webkitgtk with it.

Unfortunately, that might require a ton of churn in a stable release. ;(
