Description of problem:
Can we please add a setting for default text editor to System Settings->System Information->Default Applications?

If I am in the GNOME Shell Activities Overlay and search for a text file, there is no way to select which text editor I wish to open it in.  Having an ability to change the default editor via the Control Panel would be much appreciated.

There should also be an option to set the default search engine for users who want an alternative to Google and Wikipedia when doing searches via the GNOME Shell's Activities Overview mode.

You can already change the default editor by right-clicking on text file, and selecting the default application to open it with. I don't see how adding default text editor is going to help (especially as it's a slippery slope).

If you want to discuss this more, feel free to discuss it upstream with the designers.
