Description David Le Sage 2011-03-09 06:58:44 UTC
Description of problem:
If you run dconf-editor as root, as soon as you click on an item to tick or untick it, the application abruptly exits.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
dconf-editor-0.7.2-3.x86_64

How reproducible:
Every time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run dconf-editor as root.
2. Tick or untick any item such as apps->epiphany->ui->show-bookmarks-bar

Actual results:
App exits immediately. Feedback from XTerm is:

** (dconf-editor:5141): DEBUG: dconf-schema.vala:276: Loading schema: /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/org.a11y.atspi.gschema.xml
g_dbus_connection_real_closed: Remote peer vanished with error: Underlying GIOStream returned 0 bytes on an async read (g-io-error-quark, 0). Exiting.
Terminated

Expected results:
Whether or not you should validly run this tool as root from an XTerm, it should not exit abruptly.

The dconf commandline tool is not useful; just don't run it.
