Unfortunately, I was unable to reproduce this, and I tried several times.  :-( 

While the error was occurring, GKrellM reported that I had over 600 processes running (normally it sits around 400).  Otherwise, the system appeared to be idling.  Both CPUs were running at 15% or less (this is a dual-core Athlon system), and no program showed up as using much CPU.  It acted as it would under a very heavy load (not surprising, given the number of processes); jerky mouse movement, sluggish graphical refresh, etc.

How to reproduce
-----
1.  Right-click on a file
2.  Select "Properties"
3.  Wait several seconds (usually the dialog pops up immediately)
4.  ...Boom.  Then the Properties dialog shows up.

This message is a notice that Fedora 14 is now at end of life. Fedora 
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. It is 
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
