Description callan.du.plessis 2011-03-12 02:51:36 UTC
Description of problem:
Sierra 308 mobile broadband card has suddenly stopped work in Fedora 14 (worked with no problems and then one day refused to connect, the icon in gnome just keeps spinning). I have tried updated the system to latest release, and reinstalling Fedora 14. Other mobile broadband (Huwaei) cards are able to connect, just a problem with the Sierra 308. Modem connects perfectly in Windows so is not a hardware issue.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Attempt to connect to Bigpond mobile broadband using Sierra 308 mobile broadband card.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Attempt to connect to mobile broadband connection
2. Icon animates but never connects, nor shows any indication of failing to connect

Actual results:
Icon keeps spinning, never shows connection.

Expected results:
Should connect to mobile broadband.

You'll probably want the latest MM testing update:

https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/ModemManager-0.4.998-1.git20110706.fc14

the older F14 MM (20100720) doesn't contain support for newer Sierra devices (3xx) that use a pseudo-ethernet port for data, but the new build there does. It works great on my Sierra 306 so far.
