Description Zenon Panoussis 2011-03-13 10:54:34 UTC
Building from SRPM fails:

[javac] /root/rpmbuild/BUILD/castor-0.9.5/src/main/org/exolab/castor/jdo/engine/ClobImpl.java:64: org.exolab.castor.jdo.engine.ClobImpl is not abstract and does not override abstract method getCharacterStream(long, long) in java.sql.Clob
    [javac] public class ClobImpl implements Clob {
    [javac] ^
[javac] Note: Some input files use or override a deprecated API.
[javac] Note: Recompile with -Xlint:deprecation for details.
    [javac] 1 error
    [javac] 100 warnings

BUILD FAILED

The internet suggests that it might build under an older JDK. This is a really ancient version anyway; the current version upstream is 1.3.1.

Comment 2 RHEL Program Management 2011-03-13 11:17:30 UTC
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for
inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Because the affected component is not scheduled to be updated
in the current release, Red Hat is unfortunately unable to
address this request at this time. Red Hat invites you to
ask your support representative to propose this request, if
appropriate and relevant, in the next release of Red Hat
Enterprise Linux. If you would like it considered as an
exception in the current release, please ask your support
representative.

Comment 3 Mikolaj Izdebski 2012-05-21 12:35:05 UTC
I was able to successfully rebuild castor-0.9.5-5.3.el6 in RHEL 6.3. Even if the bug existed in the first place, it appears to be fixed now. Closing.

Comment 6 Mikolaj Izdebski 2016-07-22 05:41:01 UTC
Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 6 is entering the Production 2 phase of its lifetime and this bug doesn't meet the criteria for it, i.e. only high severity issues will be fixed. Please see https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/errata/ for further information.

Comment 7 RHEL Program Management 2016-07-22 08:35:44 UTC
