Description Panu Matilainen 2011-03-15 06:06:59 UTC
Description of problem:
gnome-disk-utility and its subpackages unconditionally call update-desktop-database, gtk-update-icon-cache and touch, but do not have dependencies for them or otherwise handle the missing commands. This can cause scriptlet errors/warnings on package install/remove.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnome-disk-utility-2.91.6-4 (f15, rawhide)

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. yum --disablerepo="*" --enablerepo=fedora-local --installroot=/home/test/ -y install gnome-disk-utility
2. rpm -e --root /home/test gnome-disk-utility

(repeat install to an empty chroot to see errors for sub-packages, step 2 using rpm due to a yum bug on erase from chroot)

Actual results:

warning: %post(gnome-disk-utility-2.91.6-4.fc16.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 127

warning: %postun(gnome-disk-utility-2.91.6-4.fc16.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 127

/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.2khxKF: line 1: gtk-update-icon-cache: command not found

Expected results:
No warnings/errors during install/erase.

Additional info:
Some scriptlet commands are missing redirect to /dev/null, others are missing ||: to suppress error codes.

See http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/ScriptletSnippets#desktop-database and http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/ScriptletSnippets#Icon_Cache for Fedora guidelines on dealing with these

Sorry, copy-paste error there, should be

yum --disablerepo="*" --enablerepo=rawhide --installroot=/home/test/ -y

Comment 3 Fedora End Of Life 2013-04-03 17:46:32 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 19 development cycle.
Changing version to '19'.

(As we did not run this process for some time, it could affect also pre-Fedora 19 development
cycle bugs. We are very sorry. It will help us with cleanup during Fedora 19 End Of Life. Thank you.)
