Just checked under XFCE, same thing.

Comment 2 Matěj Cepl 2011-03-17 20:02:41 UTC
There must something wrong with your keyboard, most likely with keyboard layout. Could we get output of the xev command recording what is actually sent to Xorg when you press Ctrl-F, please?

Thank you

Requested xev output

Started xev, pressed ctrl-F, moved the mouse away to the Terminal where I started it, ctrl-C

BTW, in xpdf ctrl-F works fine for searching.

xev output looks normal, modifiers are getting set.

screencast of the non-reproduction

I cannot reproduce here with firefox-3.6.15-1.fc14 (see the attached screenshot). So, we need more information to be able to reproduce the issue here.

1) Are you able to reproduce this when running firefox in the safe mode (i.e., run it with parameter -safe-mode on the command line)
2) Are you able to reproduce the problem with the upstream binary from
http://www.firefox.com/?
3) Are you able to reproduce the problem with a fresh profile?

Thank you for your cooperation and helping to make Fedora more awesome!

We will review this issue again once you've had a chance to attach this information.

Thanks in advance.

In safe mode the bug goes away... will need to dig into my addons etc.

Sorry for wasting your time.

Comment 7 Horst H. von Brand 2011-03-27 23:18:58 UTC
Found out that Firemacs captures ctrl-F, disabled that one and now I'm OK.

Thanks!
