Thanks for the bug report. We have reviewed the information you have provided above, and there is some additional information we require that will be helpful in our diagnosis of this issue. Please add drm.debug=0x04 to the kernel command line, restart computer, and attach * your X server config file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf, if available), * X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.*.log) * output of the dmesg command, and * system log (/var/log/messages) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the bugzilla file attachment link above. Do you use gnome-shell (the image is so corrupted that I am not sure)? Is this the same for all applications or some (gedit, xterm, firefox) behave differently? We will review this issue again once you've had a chance to attach this information. Thanks in advance. I have the same issue on a brand new Thinkpad W510 on which I installed FC14 (fully updated) today. This is in Gnome. It happens with all application windows, apparently only when I move them to the left (not to the right, nor up or down), and the corruption is particularly visible while the window is moving. Once the mouse is released, typically only the title bar remains corrupted. Moving to another workspace and back restores it. I will attempt to get the debut logs as indicated in the previous comment, though not immediately as I need to setup this computer for work. (I can send any information that does not require restarts quickly). kernel-2.6.35.11-83.fc14.x86_64 xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-0.0.16-11.20100826git065576d.fc14.x86_64 Created attachment 492595 [details] xorg.conf File xorg.conf (from Comment 3, after boot with drm.debug=0x04). Created attachment 492596 [details] Xorg.0.log File Xorg.0.log (from computer in Comment 2, after boot with drm.debug=0x04). Created attachment 492597 [details] dmesg Output of dmesg (from computer in Comment 2, after boot with drm.debug=0x04). Created attachment 492598 [details] /var/log/messages Output of /var/log/messages (from computer in Comment 2, after boot with drm.debug=0x04). I just realized that it is often enough, to avoid corruption, to combine the leftward movement of the window with _some_ vertical movement (down then up, for instance, instead of straight left...) Another comment: I just tried the Fedora 15 beta live-disc (x64), and there is no bug there! In fact Gnome Shell seems to work fine with this laptop. I'm looking forward to the final version then... Great work! Closing as fixed in f15, thank you! |
